J D Williams Whisky bar¹ on Prinsenstraat has long been one of Liquid Sunshine’s favourite whisky bars. Since its opening in 2014 this laidback whisky bar has been a go-to destination when we’re in town. It’s been a long time since we passed through Amsterdam without at least a flying visit and have never had a night to regret in all those years.

Stylish, exposed brick with backlit shelves showcasing the spirit of the room. Friendly staff, with of course that dry Dutch sense of humour, an enormous selection of whiskies from around the globe, fine food, and as varied a global clientele as you’d ever want for whittling away the hours chatting in a whisky bar.

Located in the Jordaan neighborhood, the family-owned bar focuses on whisky and whisky cocktails whilst also offering great craft beers. They stock over 250 whiskies from around the globe, with a seasonal whisky cocktail menu packed with classics and house recipes, and a kitchen serving American-Asian comfort food and snacks to keep you fuelled up.
